About the Periodontal Procedures

Local Delivery Antimirobial Therapy

Local Delivery Antimicrobial Therapy is the injection of an antibiotic in the pocket of a residual, localized periodontal pocket. This is often done if a patient only has one or two deeper periodontal probe depths in the mouth after scaling and root planing or after surgical therapy. This is also done in the absence of vertical bone defects in the areas of the pockets.
